Our founder, Shelly Patinella, began his career in food service over 25 years ago in the concession business. A few years ago Shelly noticed his customers changed their eating habits, they still wanted to be served quickly, but wanted a healthy alternative to the “normal” food choices they had and at a fair price. He introduced his grilled chicken rice bowls to much fan delight.
After perfecting the concept Shelly decided to open a restaurant with the very same successful grilled chicken menu he had been selling. In addition, Shelly added his “world famous” gyros sandwich to the menu along with fresh made-to-order salads and the Patinella’s Chicken Grill restaurant concept was born. Many satisfied customers from all around the country began asking Shelly when he was going to open a Patinella’s Chicken Grill in their backyard, thus the decision was made to franchise the concept.
In 2006 Shelly started the process of creating a restaurant concept that used the experience he had learned over the past 25 years serving millions of customers. Shelly assembled a world-class franchise team to take his concept nationwide and provide the needed assistance for franchises to build a business of their own, but not by themselves. Patinella’s is now beginning to franchise nationwide.
